Planning a Two-Day Wedding Celebration in Ireland: Everything You Need to Know

Your wedding day always goes by faster than you expect.

One moment you're getting ready with your closest friends, and the next you're sharing your last dance. It's one of the reasons more couples are choosing to extend the celebrations and turn their wedding into a full weekend experience.

A two-day wedding gives you more time to relax, spend meaningful moments with your guests and truly enjoy everything you've planned. At Boyne Hill House, our exclusive-use estate is designed to let you do exactly that.

What Is a Two-Day Wedding?

A two-day wedding is exactly what it sounds like: a celebration that goes beyond the wedding day itself.

Instead of everyone arriving just before the ceremony and leaving the following morning, your guests become part of a relaxed wedding weekend. It creates more opportunities to catch up, celebrate and enjoy quality time together without feeling rushed.

Whether your guests are travelling from across Ireland or flying in from abroad, a longer celebration makes the journey even more worthwhile.

Why Couples Are Choosing Wedding Weekends

A wedding weekend allows you to slow everything down.

Rather than trying to squeeze every conversation and celebration into one day, you'll have time to enjoy the people you've invited.

Some of the biggest benefits include:

  • More quality time with family and friends

  • A relaxed pace with less pressure

  • Extra opportunities for photographs around the estate

  • More time to enjoy the gardens and grounds

  • A memorable experience for guests travelling from overseas

It's not about adding more to your wedding—it's about giving yourself more time to enjoy it.

Day 2 Celebrations on the estate grounds

A Typical Wedding Weekend at Boyne Hill House

Every couple creates their own timeline, but a weekend often unfolds something like this.

The Day Before

Many couples arrive early to settle into the estate before guests arrive.

It's a chance to enjoy the surroundings, meet with suppliers, rehearse your ceremony if needed and spend a relaxed evening with your nearest and dearest.

The Manor House becomes your home for the weekend, allowing everyone to ease into the celebrations.

The Wedding Day

Wake up surrounded by your favourite people.

Enjoy a relaxed morning in The Nest and our dedicated Beauty Room, while guests settle into the estate before gathering for your ceremony.

Whether you're exchanging vows in our Secret Garden or inside the beautifully restored Conservatory, every part of the day flows naturally across the estate.

After your ceremony, guests can enjoy drinks on the lawns before moving into the Boyne View Suite for dinner and dancing.

Because the entire estate is exclusively yours, every space feels personal and private.

Day Two

One of the best parts of a wedding weekend is waking up knowing the celebrations aren't over.

Many couples spend the second day catching up with guests over breakfast before enjoying a relaxed afternoon together.

Popular ways to spend Day Two include:

  • Woodland walks around the estate

  • Time in our Woodland Soak & Sauna

  • Relaxing in the Manor House lounges

  • Watching a film together in the Cinema Room

  • Friendly competition in the Billiards Room

  • Casual drinks in The Bar at the Stables

  • Garden games on the lawns

There are no strict schedules—just time to enjoy being together.

Why Exclusive Use Makes All the Difference

One of the biggest advantages of a wedding weekend is having the estate entirely to yourselves.

There are no other weddings, no hotel guests and no need to share the spaces that make your celebration special.

From the moment you arrive until it's time to say goodbye, Boyne Hill House becomes your own private country estate.

That sense of privacy helps everyone relax and makes the weekend feel even more personal.

Is a Two-Day Wedding Right for You?

If you've always imagined a wedding that feels relaxed, unhurried and centred around the people you love most, a wedding weekend could be the perfect choice.

It's not about making your wedding bigger—it's about making it more meaningful.

At Boyne Hill House, you'll have the time and space to celebrate at your own pace, creating memories that extend far beyond a single day.

Planning Your Wedding Weekend

If you're hoping to extend your celebrations, it's worth planning ahead. Pre- and post-wedding accommodation is subject to availability, particularly for weddings taking place between Friday and Sunday. As these dates are in high demand, additional weekend nights cannot be provisionally reserved and can only be confirmed within three months of your wedding date, subject to availability.

For couples who would like to enjoy a full wedding weekend with greater flexibility, we recommend choosing a Monday to Wednesday wedding. Additional nights before and after your celebration are typically available throughout the year, making it much easier to create a relaxed multi-day experience with your family and friends.

If you're dreaming of a two-day wedding celebration in the Irish countryside, we'd love to welcome you to Boyne Hill House.

Book a private viewing and discover how your wedding weekend could unfold across our exclusive country house estate in the heart of the Boyne Valley.
